Vacancy: Join the International Students Committee – Make Your Voice Heard!
At BoKS, we are committed to representing all students, including our international community. We recognize that international students face unique challenges in SSH housing, and we want to ensure their voices are heard. As a board, we are taking proactive steps to address this by establishing an International Students Committee.
This committee will serve as an advisory body to the BoKS board, dedicated to gathering insights from international students, identifying key issues, and proposing solutions. By joining, you will play a direct role in shaping policies and improvements for international students living in SSH housing.
The committee will consist of five members, ideally representing different cities where SSH operates. While the members will decide on their own meeting frequency, we recommend meeting biweekly. Additionally, the committee will have structured meetings with a designated BoKS board member at least once per quarter, or more often if needed.
As a committee member, you will also be welcome at all BoKS-organized events, giving you the opportunity to connect with other active students and expand your network.
Which positions
Chairman
This person leads and plans committee meetings and liaisons with the board. In addition, this person is the point of contact for the board.
Secretary
This person ensures that all meetings and interactions are documented. These include meetings with the committee itself, as well as those with the board. In addition, any opinions and (summaries of) interactions with international students or organizations are documented by this person.
Treasurer
This person ensures that budgets for all activities are created and submits them to the Treasurer of the BoKS Board.
General committee members (2 positions).
These members support the work of the committee and may take on specific tasks as important issues are identified.

By working closely with BoKS, you will help drive meaningful improvements while developing your leadership, communication, and advocacy skills. And since the committee is still completely new, there is a lot of room to contribute your own ideas and thoughts.

Op voordracht van de huurders – verbonden met studenten – inzicht in bedrijfskundige en financiële thema’s
De SSH
De SSH is een woningcorporatie speciaal voor studenten die actief een kamer of studio zoeken in de studentensteden Rotterdam, Utrecht (en omstreken), Zwolle, Tilburg en Groningen.
BoKS
BoKS is de huurders- en koepelorganisatie voor alle huurders van de SSH. BoKS is een vereniging en behandelt voornamelijk de complexoverstijgende belangen van deze huurders.
Profiel lid raad van commissarissen (op voordracht van de huurders)..
- Je wordt commissaris bij de SSH – Student Housing, een woningcorporatie met zo’n 19.000 studentenkamers en -woningen in verschillende studentensteden. Je wordt benoemd op voordracht van de huurders van de SSH.
- Je past goed bij een positie op voordracht van de huurders. Je hebt een goed gevoel voor maatschappelijke ontwikkelingen en bent gemotiveerd om je in te zetten voor sociale huisvesting voor studenten.
- Je herkent je in het profiel bedrijfskundig-financieel en hebt ervaring met IT en digitaliseringsvraagstukken. Je past goed bij een rol in de audit & investeringscommissie.
- Je bent een ervaren commissaris: je hebt wijsheid opgebouwd, vanuit je kennis en ervaring. Je kent de dynamiek binnen een raad, bent gewend om dilemma’s te bespreken en fungeert hierin als klankbord voor het bestuur en de raad.
Op voordracht van de huurders
- Je bent toegankelijk, bereikbaar en onderhoudt een open en actieve relatie met huurdersorganisatie BoKS.
- Je hebt ervaring met medezeggenschap en kent de rol van medezeggenschap in relatie tot de raad van commissarissen.
- Je hebt concrete affiniteit met studenten en staat dichtbij deze doelgroep. En je hebt kennis van en/of ervaring met de interne werkwijzen van belangrijke stakeholders, zoals universiteiten en hogescholen en/of de (lokale) politiek.
Als commissaris
- Je bent autonoom en denkt in de geest van wet- en regelgeving: je kleurt graag op de lijntjes en bent hierin een stimulans voor de raad van commissarissen en de directeur-bestuurder.
- Je bent opmerkzaam, luistert en ondersteunt.
- Je bent verstandig, doordacht. Je bewaart het overzicht en weegt alle mogelijkheden af.
- Je kijkt met een zakelijke bril en een warm hart naar maatschappelijke opgaves.
- Je bent een visionair, kijkt naar de lange termijn.
De raad van commissarissen van de SSH streeft naar een zo divers mogelijk team.
